We recommend sealants for children as they are more likely to get cavities as they learn to brush and floss properly. Research shows that kids between 6-11 years old who don’t have dental sealants get three times more cavities than kids who do have sealants. How Long Do Sealants Last?
Dental sealants wear out over time, but they can last up to 10 years when you care for your teeth. At every dental visit with Dr. Gallagher, we’ll check them to make sure they’re holding up well. If they’re worn down or damaged, we can buff off what’s left and reapply a fresh coating.
