Teething can be tough–on your baby, and on you! We’re here to help you both get through it with some easy at-home tips to soothe your child’s aching gums.
Massage the Gums
Who doesn’t love a massage? Your baby’s gums certainly do. Simply using a clean finger or a moist square of gauze to rub along your little one’s gums will ease some of the pain and discomfort of teething.
Cool & Calm
A chilly sensation can provide a nice dose of relief to a teething child. Try a cool washcloth or teething ring on the gums. Don’t give your child anything frozen, however, as that would be too harsh.
Try Some Crunch
If your baby is ready, solid foods can be a great alternative to the teething ring. Try peeled cucumber, refrigerate for some extra, chilly relief, and let them gnaw away. Just keep an eye on your baby so that he or she doesn’t choke.
Ease the Pain
If these methods just aren’t cutting it, there are drugs you can give your baby to help lessen the pain of teething. Find a children’s over-the-counter painkiller, such as Children’s Motrin or Tylenol, for some extra help with the ache.
